Circuitrocks Invaded UP Diliman: Inspiring Students Through Tech and Community

On March 28–29, 2017, Circuitrocks had the opportunity to visit one of
the country’s top universities —
University of the Philippines Diliman.
The campus visit was part of our mission to bring technology, inspiration, and
real-world learning directly to students.

During our visit to UP Diliman, students gathered inside a lecture
room to engage in discussions, presentations, and community interaction centered on
technology and innovation. The atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and full of
curiosity.

This visit was not about selling products or promoting tools—it was about sharing
experiences, encouraging students to build, and showing that technology is something
they can actively participate in.

Why campus visits like this matter

When tech communities step into universities like UP Diliman, it
helps bridge the gap between theory and practice. Students get to hear from people
who actively build, experiment, and support real projects.

These interactions help students realize that learning doesn’t stop at lectures —
it continues through experimentation, collaboration, and community.

Building confidence, not just skills

One of the most important outcomes of the UP Diliman visit was confidence.
Seeing approachable mentors and peers who enjoy building projects helps students
believe that they, too, can start creating.

Whether it’s electronics, programming, or embedded systems, the goal is always the
same: start small, keep learning, and don’t be afraid to experiment.

Student project ideas inspired by the visit

Inspired by the Circuitrocks visit at UP Diliman? Here are some
beginner-friendly project ideas students can build:

  • Simple Arduino-based sensor monitoring project
  • ESP32 Wi-Fi IoT prototype for data logging
  • RFID-based student ID or attendance system
  • Basic automation project using relays and sensors

Students can explore components and starter kits at

Circuitrocks

to turn these ideas into real, working projects.

A big thank you to UP Diliman

We would like to thank University of the Philippines Diliman for
welcoming Circuitrocks into the campus and allowing us to connect with passionate
and motivated students.

To everyone who joined us — keep building, keep learning, and keep exploring where
creativity can take shape.
